NaNoWriMo 2012

October began, and with it all the preparations (of those who don't begin before) for the next November project. I joined NaNoWriMo last year as a way to force myself to finish a novel, or at least get pass the 40k word count. Back then I got my iPad which helped me reach my word count goal successfully. What's amazing is that the novel is 180from what it was a year ago. The journey has been wonderful, and currently I am finishing editing the plot and huge gaps at 70K words. In the end I will edit the word use with a nice editing software that allow me to spot words overuses or missuses. The draft went through 5 changes, 3 of those completely different from the other. The last one being edited for scenes, consistency in plot and characters as well as sentences construction.

This year I already began with the plot and characters. I will attempt a more organized and different approach from my first year. Last year I only had STORYIST for iPad. This year, I am using a set of additional tools including: “MindMeister” and “EDraw MindMap”, to organize the plot; “infinotes”, for quick ideas; and “writeroom” along with “dropbox”. I also have a notebook for planning. I want to be more organized since I understand more since the last one.

All in all, I am looking forward to this year's NaNoWriMo. The plot I planned has been lingering in my head since I began writing for 2011. I just couldn't write two novels at a time. Because of this I had to wait, now that Luminescent is close to completion, I can begin to plan my new one.

Find me in NaNoWriMo.
